Day trip to Leuven from Brussels
Description
Leuven is one of the oldest university cities in Europe, where brilliant minds and international researchers feel at home. The endless offer of things to see and experience makes this city a must on your visit to Belgium. Located close to Brussels, Leuven is a fascinating and genuine medieval city with majestic university buildings scattered throughout the centre. Thanks to the students, Leuven is alive from Monday to Sunday, day and night.
What we are going to do?
This full-day guided tour will take you through the streets of this beautiful city and you will be able to admire sights such as the most beautiful town hall in Belgium, the largest beguinary in Flanders, the old cloth market and the impressive university library. We will also stop at the tomb of Father Damien, the recently beatified patron saint of lepers. Of course, a stop at the Oude Markt, the former market place, now the longest bar in Europe, is a must. The countless establishments in this square have turned it into Leuven's meeting point par excellence. Don't hesitate to take a seat on one of the terraces and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. At the end of the guided tour you will have some free time to explore the city on your own.
