Art Nouveau tour in Brussels
Description
Whether you are an architecture lover or not, this tour is a must to understand the city of Brussels and discover a wealth of buildings of incredible architectural beauty. Discover the birth and evolution of Art Nouveau in Brussels through its most beautiful achievements. We will show you the most important works of this architectural style such as the creations of the architect Victor Horta, some of which have been declared World Heritage Sites by Unesco. We will also visit the Bailli district, in the municipality of Ixelles, where the main Art Nouveau houses of the architects Paul Hankar, Octave Van Rysselberghe, Henry Van de Velde and Albert Roosenboom are located.
What we are going to do?
We will take a guided tour accompanied by a local guide who is an expert in architecture. From the centre of Brussels, we will take the tram to the Bailli district, where we will find the largest number of Art Nouveau buildings in Brussels. During the tour you will learn from your guide all about the origins and development of this architectural style. The tour will end in front of the former home and workshop of one of the founders of this artistic movement: Victor Horta.
