Txakoli wine tour from Bilbao
Description
Txakoli is a white wine made from local green grapes that has been produced in the Basque Country since long before the 16th century. The lands surrounding Bilbao and the nearby coastal areas give their name to the "Txakoli de Bizkaia" Designation of Origin. The Txakoli Museum in Bakio gives us the chance to learn about the history and tradition of the unique "Hondarrabi Zuri" grape.
What we are going to do?
We will depart from Bilbao using an arranged private transport to go to the Txakoli Museum in Bakio, where we will have the opportunity to learn all about the history and tradition of the "Hondarribi Zuri" grapes. We will follow the tour to a typical winery, also called "Txakolindegi" (house of Txakoli, in Basque language), where we will discover all the secrets of this characteristic wine, its harvest and its elaboration process, from beginning to end. Finally, we will enjoy a variety of Txakoli tastings together with a local aperitif comprising typical products from the Cantabrian Sea.
