Description
Wine and gastronomy are part of Catalonia’s popular wisdom. On this tour, we'll delve into the Penedès region to learn all about the fascinating world of wine. The influence of the sun and the Mediterranean Sea make the Penedès a privileged territory for the production of wines and cavas. On the one hand we find wine, deeply rooted in the history of Catalonia and Spain in general. An expert oenologist will tell us the history of a thousand-year-old wine cellar in the Penedès and we will take a tour to learn about the grape varieties, the cultivation of the vine, and the elaboration of the wine or the optimal conditions for its conservation. We will also taste cava, a naturally sparkling wine with an unmistakable flavour.
What we are going to do?
We will travel by private transport from Barcelona to the Pere Ventura and Can Bas wineries. Our first stop will be a family winery that has been cultivating vines for over two thousand years. After a tour of the winery, we will have a tasting of 4 wines accompanied by an assortment of gourmet canapés. We will then visit the traditional manor house (current residence of the owner's family) and the vineyards to discover the art and secrets of winemaking. Finally, we will take a 4x4 route through the vineyards accompanied by the guide and a winegrower. In the second winery, which specialises in cava, we will visit and taste 4 unique cavas accompanied by a selection of aperitifs.
