The true and authentic Catalan culture is at the Museum of the History of Catalonia, located in the former General Stores of Commerce of Barcelona, the only preserved building of the old industrial port of Barcelona. Designed to conserve, exhibit and showcase the history of Catalonia, the Museum is full of items and stories that will show you a whole new culture. It has an extensive collection of objects, settings and historical recreations through which the history of the Catalan community is told in a simple and entertaining way. The museum is an exciting journey into the past of the Catalan territory, through temporary exhibitions, interactive opportunities, films and drawings designed to educate and inspire you.
What we are going to do?
With the general admission ticket to the museum you can discover the history of Catalonia thanks to its permanent and temporary exhibitions. You can immerse yourself in Catalan culture by riding a medieval horse, learning about Franco's dictatorship or taking a ride on a tram like the ones used in Barcelona in the 1920s. The rooftop restaurant and bar are a highlight of the visit. You can go up for a drink and have incredible views of the Port Vell, the city and Montjuic, the hill that rises above Barcelona's harbour.
