Sweet Barcelona tour
Description
It is said that Barcelona's sweet tradition is as old as the city's origins. In the historic Roman colony of Barcino, our ancestors were already eating desserts made with honey and nuts. Cakes and digestive liqueurs such as muscatel were already popular in the Middle Ages, as were many varieties of desserts for the most important festivals of the year. With the arrival of cocoa, the possibilities for confectionery multiplied. Today Barcelona has become a renowned sweet destination with coffee shops and bakeries such as La Colmena, Escribà, Bubó, Granja Viader, Hoffman and Brunells. All of them have won awards all over the world. With this tour you will learn about the history and origin of the ingredients, their properties and the relationship with the festive calendar. The tour will take you through traditional bakeries and pastry shops where you will discover the best recipes.
