Description
Antonio Gaudí is one of the most admired architects of the 20th century. He is known as the face of Catalan architecture. His entire oeuvre was inspired by his fascination with the Orient and neo-Gothic to his affinity for naturalism and specific geometric forms. He considered every detail of his creations and integrated trades such as ceramics, stained glass, wrought iron and carpentry into his architecture. He also introduced new techniques in the treatment of materials, such as "trencadís", which used waste ceramic pieces. Two of his masterpieces are the Sagrada Familia, the most visited site in Spain and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005, and Parc Güell.
What we are going to do?
We'll take a private electric bike tour accompanied by an expert local guide to see Gaudí's most important works. First we'll head to Parc Güell to explore the conception and changing function of the park over the years. Then we will visit the Sagrada Familia where we will be able to explore, both inside and out, the symbolism behind this masterpiece of modernism. On both visits, the guide will give us explanations on the outside and then we will be able to access with special tickets without queuing and with an audio guide. In addition, during the tour we will enjoy a photographic experience, and at the end, we will taste the best tapas and drinks in a cosy local restaurant.
