Description

When people hear the word "port" they are not aware of the importance of maritime transport for their everyday life. With this experience, we open the doors to the unknown and exotic world of maritime life and transport. The history of the port of Barcelona is closely linked to the history of the city and its economy, you will see all the resources of a great port that has become a very important commercial and logistic centre for the city's economy. You will have the opportunity to witness the balance of a great city and a great port with its marine environment aboard one of Barcelona's classic Golondrinas, wooden boats, with an open double deck and built to sail in calm waters.

What we are going to do?

You'll enjoy a classic boat trip around the Port of Barcelona, a unique opportunity to enjoy the sea breeze, feel the sun on your face and see large cruise ships and marinas. This is an activity that offers a 40-minute tour in which you'll see the most important icons of the port and the seafront. You'll visit the Maremagnum, the new Puerta de Europa Bridge (an impressive drawbridge), the Clock Tower (a former lighthouse from the time of Charles III and where the fishing fleet docks are now located), the Sideroploide (an abstract sculpture built in 1963 by the sculptor Salvador Aulèstia, made from iron recovered from the sea), great views of the castle and the Montjuïc mountain where the current Barcelona lighthouse is located (inaugurated on 1 December 1906, which is still in operation); the W hotel, and the various sports clubs where private boats moor. We will pass in front of the "Moll de Llevant" (Levante Quay), where the new entrance to the quay has been inaugurated. In addition, the itinerary also shows the commercial docks of merchant ships and the luxury cruise ships that dock in Barcelona, the fourth port in the world in terms of tourist cruise traffic.
