Description

Visit one of the most unique places in Greece, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Embark on a picturesque train journey through the Greek countryside and admire the beautiful scenery. Have a breathtaking experience exploring the majestic monasteries built on top of the rocks of Meteora.

What we are going to do?

Full Day guided tour to Meteora and its monasteries. The tour starts in Athens from where we will take a train to the village of Kalampaka. The train journey is on our own but once we arrive in Kalampaka (11.30h) we will meet the guide. The tour through the 6 monasteries of Meteora will be done in a luxury minibus. We will have the opportunity to see all 6 monasteries and admire the interior of 3 of them. At 16h the bus will transfer us back to Kalambaka town where we will enjoy an hour of free time to explore the centre on foot, visit one of the many cafes or restaurants and relax watching and taking pictures of Meteora. At 17.15h we will take the train back to Athens (arrival around 21.30h.).

Important

Entrance fees to the monasteries are not included in the price of the experience (approximately €3 per person which can be paid during the visit). The train leaves Athens at 7:20 am. The journey by train to Kalamapaka is on your own and e-tickets for the train will be sent to your email after your booking is confirmed. The monasteries of Meteora impose a strict dress code. Men must wear long trousers and women must wear long skirts and cover their shoulders (skirts are provided at the entrance of each monastery).
