Visit to the Keukenhof tulip field from Amsterdam
Description
Just 45 minutes from Amsterdam is the most famous tulip park in the Netherlands: the Keukenhof, once a vegetable and herb garden. It is located in the heart of the South Holland tulip region and today has the honour of being the largest flower garden in the world, with some 800,000 visitors a year. A complex of 15 kilometres of paths and 32 hectares of gardens, where millions of bulbs are planted every year. Tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and other spring bulbs in a variety of vibrant colours carpet the grounds and fill the landscape with colourful carpets of flowers in almost any colour you can imagine.
What we are going to do?
From Amsterdam, a 45-minute drive will take us to the bulb flower area around Lisse, where we will take a scenic drive to marvel at the beautiful scenery. We will then continue to the real highlight of this tour, the Keukenhof Gardens. Before enjoying a guided orientation tour of the park, we will take in the breathtaking views of the flower fields (in season). We will stroll through the English Landscape Garden, the Japanese Country Garden, the Historical Garden and discover the flower sculpture which changes its theme every year. After the guided guided tour we will have some free time to explore the gardens at our leisure before returning to Amsterdam.
