"Sea, mountain and tapas", 4x4 excursion in the Sierra de Cabrera, Almeria
Description
Located between Mojácar and Carboneras, the Sierra de Cabrera is formed by an imposing uninhabited massif which is crossed by the so-called Transcabrera route. It is a landscape of unusual natural variety, with springs and patches of vegetation. From a distance, the first impression of the Sierra de Cabrera is the irregular profile full of ridges, possibly caused by its recent geological formation. Once there, its diverse and abrupt landscapes stand out, ranging from deep ravines to oases of vegetation typical of more distant places, giving it great scenic value.
What we are going to do?
A 2-hour excursion in a 4x4 vehicle for up to 6 people, departing from the town of Carboneras, we will drive through the impressive landscapes of the Sierra de Cabrera. The route will take us first to the picturesque village of Sopalmo, where we will stop to taste some typical tapas of the region and take the opportunity to photograph and visit this beautiful hamlet. Then, driving along the watercourse, we will reach the Sopalmo Cove, and from there we will head towards the Granatilla viewpoint and the Algarrobico Beach. On the last stretch of the route we will pass through the Alias River Wadi and return to our starting point.
